The Comcast guy was nice yesterday. I couldn't tell if he was older or younger than me. Maybe this means we are the same exact age.
He had to drill some holes. He had to find the thinnest access points from the outside to the inside to run the wire through. My walls are at least three feet thick. All stone. He ended up drilling through a basement window. Now it smells like burnt wood, in that really nice way, down there. He said the wood was really dense and hard to drill so little tiny bits of it burned due to friction I think.
I was on the deck, absorbing afternoon sun, when he was outside, setting up the box. "Do you know you have so many ladybugs?" He asked. I was like, yeah, this time of year. They come in the house and are kind of everywhere. The ladybugs seemed like a highlight of his day, like something he'll mention to whoever he hangs out with after work is over.
I don't know if this means something about their health or age, but a lot of the ladybugs on my house are orange with no spots.
After he left, I looked at the new box on the side of the house. That whole wall was in fact covered in ladybugs, more than I even thought. I saw them crawling along the new internet wires, inspecting, maybe picking up a vibe.
Do internet frequencies disturb ladybugs in early November in Pennsylvania Dutch Country? Will their orange turn towards the yellow side or the red side? I'll have to report back.
